A new study by Courseplay, the Learning Technology division of CIEL HR Group, reveals a strong link between career growth initiatives and employee commitment. The study, “Key Drivers of Employee Development and Longevity,” shows that employees at all levels value opportunities for professional growth, though the specific drivers vary by experience level.<\/p>\n

The survey found that nearly half of senior executives see career growth initiatives as the most crucial factor in their long-term commitment to a company. For entry-level employees, continuous upskilling is key to engagement and loyalty, with over half prioritizing this aspect. Mid-level employees, representing a broad range of industries and company sizes, highlighted new responsibilities, specialized training, and career progression as essential for retention. This demonstrates a clear need for tailored development programs that address the specific needs and aspirations of employees at different stages of their careers.<\/p>\n

The importance of learning and development extends across company sizes as well. The study found that ongoing learning opportunities are a major retention driver for employees in both small and mid-sized businesses, with 38% and 36% respectively citing it as a key factor. This underscores the growing recognition of professional growth as a vital component of employee satisfaction and retention in today’s dynamic business environment.<\/p>\n

The findings emphasize the critical role of leadership in fostering a culture of development. “Providing employees with clear career growth opportunities enhances morale and fosters loyalty,” says Arjun Gupta, President \u2013 Learning Technology, CIEL HR Group. “Employees who feel supported in their professional development are more likely to be engaged and demonstrate long-term commitment to their roles. As leaders, it is essential to build a corporate culture that values and recognizes employee contributions.\u201d The study also revealed that C-suite executives value a culture of innovation, highlighting the importance of fostering creativity and visionary leadership.<\/p>\n

Aditya Narayan Mishra, MD & CEO of CIEL HR, adds, \u201cStructured career development and robust learning opportunities drive individual fulfillment and hence, directly contribute to organizational success. When employees feel recognized and supported in their career journeys, their loyalty and engagement naturally follow.\u201d The survey, which polled over 650 professionals across various sectors in India, provides valuable insights for organizations seeking to attract and retain top talent.<\/p>\n
